Lieutenant Shannon Jenkins

Lieutenant Shannon Jenkins proudly serves as the Public Information Officer for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, where she leads the Public Relations Division and manages all communications with local media outlets and the Associated Press. Her leadership and dedication have strengthened the Sheriff’s Office relationship with the community, ensuring transparency, trust, and collaboration across Benton County.

Lieutenant Jenkins began her distinguished law enforcement career in 1996 as a jailer in the former Benton County Jail. Her dedication and professionalism quickly earned her advancement to the Patrol Division, where she specialized in Civil Operations. She continued to rise through the ranks, serving as Civil Sergeant and later Administrative Sergeant before being appointed Public Information Officer in 2017.

Deeply committed to the Sheriff’s Office Community First initiative, Lieutenant Jenkins plays an active role both within the agency and throughout the community. She serves on numerous boards and committees, including the Police Athletic League (PAL), Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (SALT), Drug Free Benton County, and the Children and Family Advocacy Center (CFAC). In addition to her leadership in public relations, she is also a state-certified firearms instructor and certified law enforcement instructor, exemplifying her passion for mentorship, training, and community engagement.
