K-9 Unit

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office K9 Division is comprised of four patrol canine, one jail canine and one search and rescue bloodhound. The four patrol canines are trained and certified in drug detection and criminal apprehension. The jail canine is a drug detection dog whose primary function is control of contraband in the jail. The newest member of the unit is our bloodhound whose primary function will be tracking for lost children and missing adults. Not only does the K9 Unit perform patrol functions, they are also used in many community related demonstrations and events.
