Honor Guard

The Honor Guard is a ceremonial unit proudly provided by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard is comprised of 20 deputies from various divisions of the Sheriff’s office. Captain Andy Lee is the commander overseeing the Honor Guard program. The Honor Guard’s primary function is to participate in funerals by providing services such as Silent Guard, pallbearers, flag folding, rifle team and playing of Taps for any police officer killed in the line of duty.
While all sheriff’s deputies have a dress uniform, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard has a very distinct uniform that sets it apart from other members of the agency. This is to signify the commitment that its members make to fulfill the honor guard’s mission.
The unit’s mission is to represent the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at community events, award ceremonies, at the police officer’s memorial ceremony and to attend funerals for officers killed in the line of duty. The members of the honor guard must be ready to attend events at all times, since they do not know when they will be called upon for service.

The members of the unit stand ready to pay their respects to officers that pay the ultimate price for their community. Members take this mission seriously as it is our opportunity to honor the fallen officer and to pay our respect to the family.
