Aviation Unit

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Division began in 1995 under the leadership of Sheriff Andy Lee. The aircraft were appropriated through the 1033 program which makes surplus military equipment available to law enforcement. The Aviation Division, currently under Sheriff Shawn Holloway has two OH-58A Bell helicopters that are public service aircraft to serve our community.

We have experienced volunteer pilots that are Part 91 and NVG certified and have been a part of the Aviation Division for many years. They also have two certified aircraft mechanics that keep our helicopters safe and ready for service.

The Aviation Division provides support for law enforcement activities including missing persons, manhunts, tactical support, patrol support, natural disaster support and other related incidents.
