Aviation Unit

Established in 1995 under Sheriff Andy Lee’s leadership, and currently lead by Sheriff Shawn Holloway, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Division acquired aircrafts; through the 1033 program, offering a surplus of military equipment to law enforcement. The division operates two OH-58A Bell helicopters as public service aircrafts; served by experienced volunteer pilots with Part 91 and NVG certifications, accompanied by two certified aircraft mechanics, the division ensures the helicopters remain safe and ready for various law enforcement activities, such as missing persons cases, manhunts, tactical and patrol support, and natural disaster assistance.
